Shiso is Japanese. It's called Perilla here. Simply cut a bunch of red shiso into your fried rice is one of the best way to enjoy the fresh SHISO.
Ingredients Serves: 2
1 free range egg (Closed loop farm)
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, diced (Closed loop farm)
2 cups cooked white rice, cold
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 cup cooked, diced meat or tofu
1 bunch chopped Red/Green Shiso (Closed loop farm)
1 cup of diced spring onion (Closed loop farm)

In a small bowl beat egg. Melt butter in a large frypan over medium low heat. Add egg and leave flat for 1 to 2 minutes.
Remove from frypan and cut into strips.
Heat oil in same frypan then add meat or tofu, onion and diced vegetables saute until soft.
Stir in egg.
Add soy sauce, pepper and rice.
Stir fry together for about 5 minutes.
Add chopped Shiso leaves and spring onion.
Serve hot.
